Premature ejaculation
Premature ejaculation is a male sexual disorder characterized by the following:
- Ejaculation takes place before or within one minute of vaginal penetration (congenital premature ejaculation) or is significantly reduced lasting from one to three minutes (acquired erectile dysfunction).
- The inability to delay ejaculation in all or almost all penetrations.
- Negative psychological feelings (stress, depression, avoiding contact).
The causes that cause premature ejaculation are:
- Idiopathic
- Psychologically
- Penile hypersensitivity
- Dysfunction of 5-HT receptors
- Obesity
- Poor health
- Thyroid disorders
- Diabetes Mellitus
- Traumatic sexual experiences
Diagnosis is based on proper history taking.
Treatment is based on the following methods:
- Start-stop method (when the patient gets close to orgasm, intercourse stops)
- Ballan strangulation method (when the patient reaches orgasm, pressure is applied to the urethra until the feeling of orgasm ceases)
- Selective serotonin receptor blockers – antidepressants
- Use of lidocaine ointments
- Phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors (Viagra, Levitra, Cialis, Spedra, etc.)
