THE Dimitrios A. Kotsiris is a Military Doctor - Surgeon Urologist Andrologist. He was born in Patras in 1986 and after the Panhellenic exams he was admitted to the Military School of Officer Corps (SSAS) in 2004. He graduated from the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) with a grade of "LIAN KALOS" in July 2010 and in October of the same year after being sworn in he was named Flag Physician of the Navy.
Then, for one year, he was trained in various clinics (rotation) and in the Emergency Department of the Athens Naval Hospital (NA). At the same time, he attended and successfully completed a number of seminars (ATLS, ALS, School of Naval Medicine, School of Hyperbaric and Diving Medicine). He participated with a Navy ship (TPK STARAKIS) in a UN peacekeeping mission. in the Eastern Mediterranean Basin (UNIFIL-MAROPS) as a Medical Officer. In 2012 and for one year he served as a Medical Officer - Hospital Director on the Navy Frigate 'NIKIFOROS FOKAS - F466'.
In March 2013 he served at the Naval Hospital of Crete starting his basic surgical training in the Surgery Clinic. He continued with his specialization in Urology in March 2014 at the Urology Clinic of the Athens Naval Hospital. In April 2015, he continued his specialization at the 2nd University Urology Clinic of SISMANOGLIOU. From April 2016 and for 2 years he continued his specialization with an emphasis on laparoscopic Urology and endo-urology at the Urology Clinic of the University General Hospital of Patras.
In June 2018, he received the specialty title and at the same time received the European certification in Urology, after written and oral exams (Fellow of European Board of Urology, FEBU) and is now a member of the College of the European Urological Society. He is also a Doctor of the Medical School of the University of Patras.
From November 2022, he holds the position of Director of Urology-Andrology at the Urology Clinic of the Naval Hospital of Crete, while at the same time maintaining a private practice. From September 2019 and for one year he specialized in Leipzig, Germany in the subject of minimally invasive Urology and in Thessaloniki in the subject of Andrology (conducting shock waves and PRP, Peyronie's disease) and Infertility (conducting minimally invasive methods such as microTESE and varicocele with a microscope -microvaricocelectomy). Also, from February 2022 and for 6 months he specialized in reconstructive Urology (penile prostheses, clamps) in Belgrade.
He has attended a large number of seminars and has participated in many domestic and foreign conferences, with numerous announcements. He has written articles both in Greek and international Urology magazines as well as in the leading Urology book "Smith's Textbook of Endourology 4th Edition".
He is a regular member of both the Hellenic and the European Urological Society as well as the Hellenic Andrological Society. He also has a license to practice medicine in Germany (Deutsche Approbation). He speaks fluent English and German.
He is married to Chemiko Athanasia Papachristou and has three children.
